1949 Bowman Satchel Paige #224

I debated an A+ Tier and that is exactly what I would have give it...IF IT WASNT SIGNED BY SATCH! For a signed example, that you almost never see, this has to be about the best you can get.

Fantastic card for the technical grade with great centering. I love how the surface is clean with great color. Corners are the only thing holding this card back from a higher rating for me. These are just a little too rounded for my ideal taste, but not something to really care about on a signed Satchel Paige! The auto Paige gave this card is fantastic with no streaking and great placement. This is card is potentially the best signed 1949 Bowman Satchel Paige in existence, with only one other example in its league.

Overall appearance is strong when you add the card and autograph together. The card is well centered and has some nice color and the autograph is well placed and clean. However, the card borders are worn and their is alot of discloration of the card

In and of itself, the card is a very nice, above-average 2... well-centered, registered, nice color, clean surface. The rarity and sheer serendipity of a well-struck, well-preserved, perfectly-placed ballpoint auto on this attractive card makes the highest tier the only one that'll do for me.

Best looking signed '49B Paige in existence. The auto placement is ideal on this card— but what I really notice is that the card handed to Satch on that day way back when was also registered with nice centering. That's the nuance with signed vintage. Just hits the lovely overall.
