Majestic even with that one prominent crease that accounts for the eye appeal grade. As others have noted the rest of the wear really somehow does not get in the way of teh visual enjoyment.
I feel like a very select few "Pantheon" cards make me stand at attention and have their own eye appeal physics. Without that vertical crease across Honus' head, this for me is an A- on eye appeal as the wear just would not inhibit my enjoyment. That crease is the sole reason for the eye appeal grade here.
Technically, this copy has seen a lot of life: the corners are rough, the surface shows grime, and creases are present throughout. Even so, the rich orange backdrop and the iconic Honus portrait remain remarkably compelling, giving the card a presence that transcends its flaws. Regardless of grade or condition, this is the kind of piece that is simply a privilege to own, a classic example where history and character outweigh technical shortcomings. Bravo!
Do you grade on appearance on do you buy down and pay homage to it. The Card is the Holy Grail of Cards but it has issues abound. From an appearance it has surface wear, creases, border issues etc. I wish to have this card in any condition and this one at least has the main image intaked
A card most of us can only dream of owning in any condition. The creases are well placed but they do lower the eye appeal grade.
Our site's first member-owned Wagner. Eye appeal that punches well above its weight. Were that main horizontal crease higher or even gone, the eye appeal would jump up. As it stands, love how that crease averted his face-- that was the Budweiser turning point of the game, in terms of this card's journey through time and its eye appeal being preserved. I would be thrilled to look at this card daily!

I know it has serious wear yet I find myself staring at it very please but for the main wrinkle. Wagners have that aura I guess!
