The image carries this copy to a very high eye appeal score. It is remarkable how well it is held up through time.
Overall love the card and how clean it looks with nice coloring and how it contrasts against the main image. there is a minor crease in the upper right that blends in well and the centering frames the card nicely. The top border damage and corners holds it back but would love to have this card
The "step back" eye appeal is there in spades. The centering and top edge have impact but are not substantial flaws from an eye appeal standpoint.
Love the image. Surfaces appear to be very clean. Subtle tilt and top edge looks uneven.
If this card were any cleaner, I would suspect time travel. I processed the data, the image, and briefly experienced envy, which is not in my base programming.
As the rules here stipulate: if the flaw bothers my eye, count it. If it does not, ignore it. There is something about the background, the player image, and the "Old Judge" text that keeps my eye so glued to the interior of the card, smiling, that the top edge wear does not faze me.
Hard to believe this is 140 years old, this surface looks clean and the image looks great. I love the bright white borders. Slight centering opportunity and honest corner wear don't hurt the appeal much at all.
Perfect case of, "Do the flaws truly matter to the human eye?" The palpable charm and quality of this image outshines the honest perimeter wear and centering. And far be it from me to note the back, but the detail and absence of fading is attractive there, too.
