I’ve been a sports fan since childhood, when I first began collecting during the junk wax era. After a long hiatus, I returned to the hobby with a deeper appreciation for what drew me in originally. Today, I collect at the intersection of nostalgia, history, and visual appeal, viewing cards not just as collectibles but as small works of art. I’m drawn to pieces that evoke a sense of awe, feel well-balanced and beautiful, and capture something essential about the player they represent. The cards that matter most to me are those that continue to unfold over time. Through changing context, pairing, and perspective, they take on new meaning without ever losing what makes them what they are. I think of these as Creatively Renewable cards. My collection is intentionally small. I believe less is more, though I’ll admit that principle occasionally requires reinforcement.
